How Camp K got started
“Koinonia” is a Greek word meaning “fellowship.” Camp Koinonia was established by the Belton Church of Christ of Belton, Texas in August 1975 as a special opportunity for young men and women to grow in Christian fellowship with each other and with the Lord. Under the oversight of the Belton Church of Christ elders and staffed by faithful members of the area Churches of Christ, Camp Koinonia offers pre-teen, junior high, and high school students positive spiritual guidance and encouragement in a time of deception, doubt and hopelessness.

Over the years, Camp Koinonia has become an effort of many Central Texas churches and through that time, the impact of Camp K has steadily increased. Relationships have been built at camp that have lasted for years. Even more importantly, relationships with the Lord Jesus Christ have been challenged, changed, strengthened, built, developed, reinforced and encouraged for a lifetime of service to the Almighty God.

Many thanks go to the men and women of the past 37 years who have poured their sweat, tears, laughter, blood and more into Camp Koinonia. Camp K wouldn’t be the same without each of them!
